On March 28, Oasis Foundation brought the community together for a vibrant Nowruz celebration at Shoreline Community College. The evening was filled with culture, connection, and meaningful moments that reflected the spirit of unity and diversity within our community.

The program began with an opening ceremony, followed by welcome speeches from distinguished guests and community leaders. Oasis Foundation President Bayram Saryyev, Consul General of Uzbekistan Akhror Burkhanov, Deputy Consul General of Japan Tsuge Yoko, Outreach Coordinator Tirkish Gurban, and 1st Security Bank Outreach representative Ridhima Tharad all shared thoughtful remarks. Their words highlighted the importance of cultural exchange, community collaboration, and the value of bringing people together through shared experiences.

Guests were then invited to enjoy a Nowruz-themed video, setting the tone for an evening rooted in tradition and celebration. The stage came alive with performances representing diverse Central Asian cultures. Highlights included the Monjukatdy dance performed by Turkmen girls, an Uzbek community dance led by Madina, and a Kazakh musical performance by Gulnar with the song “Agugay.” The program continued with the Palav dance performed by Hamza and Gulmet, followed by a Kyrgyz song “Kaalaym Saga” performed by Gulya.

The evening also featured a vibrant Central Asian fashion show, showcasing traditional attire from across the region and celebrating cultural identity through design and craftsmanship. Interactive elements such as the Kahoot competition encouraged participation and added an engaging and fun dimension to the program. Musical performances continued with a song by Azad Sesh, and guests later enjoyed karaoke, including the popular “Yap boyunda.”

The celebration concluded with a lively dance party, where attendees came together to celebrate in a joyful and relaxed atmosphere. These shared moments of music, movement, and laughter strengthened the sense of community among everyone present.

Throughout the evening, one message remained clear: diversity is not only something to celebrate, but something that strengthens our community. Oasis Foundation extends heartfelt thanks to all speakers, performers, partners, and attendees who made this event possible. We look forward to continuing to create spaces where culture, connection, and community thrive.
