On May 29, 2026, Oasis Foundation hosted a joyful Gurban Bayram Celebration at Lake Sammamish State Park, bringing together approximately 250 community members for an evening filled with friendship, tradition, and togetherness. From 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, families, children, and friends gathered in the beautiful outdoor setting to celebrate one of the most meaningful occasions in our culture while strengthening the bonds that unite our community.
Gurban Bayram (Eid al Adha), a holiday that emphasizes gratitude, generosity, and compassion, provided a wonderful opportunity for people of all ages to come together and share in the spirit of the occasion. Surrounded by nature and the scenic beauty of the park, attendees enjoyed an atmosphere filled with warmth, laughter, and meaningful connection.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the opportunity for community members to reconnect with old friends and meet new families. Throughout the evening, guests shared conversations, exchanged stories, and enjoyed spending quality time together. Events like these remind us of the importance of maintaining strong community ties and creating spaces where people feel welcomed and valued.
Children especially enjoyed the celebration, taking part in a variety of outdoor games and activities organized throughout the event. The park was filled with excitement as children raced, played, laughed, and cheered one another on. Their energy and enthusiasm brought a special sense of joy to the gathering and created lasting memories for families in attendance. Seeing children from different backgrounds come together in friendship reflected the spirit of unity that Oasis Foundation seeks to promote through its community programs.
Food also played an important role in the celebration. Families gathered around tables filled with a variety of traditional dishes, homemade meals, and shared treats. The meal provided more than nourishment—it created opportunities for conversation, hospitality, and connection. Guests enjoyed the chance to experience the generosity and welcoming spirit that are central to Gurban Bayram traditions.
Beyond the food and activities, the event served as a reminder of the values that make Gurban Bayram so meaningful. The holiday encourages kindness, gratitude, and care for one another, values that were clearly reflected throughout the evening. Whether through sharing a meal, helping organize activities, or simply spending time together, participants contributed to an environment of mutual respect and friendship.

The success of the celebration was made possible by the dedication of volunteers, families, and community members who contributed their time and effort. Their support helped create a welcoming event where everyone could feel included and enjoy the holiday in a positive and family-friendly setting.
Oasis Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended and helped make this gathering special. The strong turnout and enthusiastic participation demonstrated the strength and unity of our community. As we continue organizing cultural and social events throughout the year, we remain committed to creating opportunities for people to connect, celebrate traditions, and build lasting relationships.
The Gurban Bayram Celebration at Lake Sammamish State Park was more than a holiday gathering—it was a celebration of community, friendship, and shared values. We look forward to continuing these traditions and creating many more meaningful moments together in the future.
